Prince William and Kate Middleton Showed Off Their Parenting Skills During Boston Trip

Prince William and Kate Middleton landed in the U.S. just a few days ago, and even though they're in unusual territory, we can always count on them to pull out their usual tricks.

This week, the pair flew to Boston, Massachusetts, for the 2022 Earthshot Prize Awards—a ceremony founded by Prince William in 2020 that recognizes pioneers in climate-focused technology. However, prior to the awards show (which takes place today), the Prince and Princess of Wales made a few other important stops. This included a visit to the Greentown Labs in Somerville, where they used their go-to parenting move.

In a photo posted to the couple's official Instagram account, Prince William and Princess Catherine are bending down to chat with a young boy who is dressed like a member of the Royal Guard, with a red tunic and a bearskin hat. This move is frequently utilized by the Prince and Princess of Wales whenever they talk to young children because it allows the kids to express themselves on equal terms.

The child appears to be handing flowers to the couple as he welcomes them to Greentown Labs, a site which is dedicated to “solving the climate crisis through entrepreneurship and collaboration.”

The caption of the photo read, “Thanks to Henry and everyone who came out to see us in Somerville this morning!”

The royal couple really flexed their parenting skills this week. In another post (above), the couple did crafts with a group of children. The first photo shows the pair sitting at a kids-sized table, and it's followed by other candid snaps of the Prince and Princess of Wales.

The outing came more than a week after Princess Catherine paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth with a monochrome magenta outfit. And this week, she pulled off another symbolic look—but this time, it was berry-colored.
