Kate Middleton Rocks Huge 2024 Fashion Trend—So I Guess It’s Not Quite Over Yet

Today, the Princess of Wales, 43, visited Tŷ Hafan, a Welsh charity dedicated to helping families and children with life-shortening conditions. I immediately noticed that Princess Catherine was wearing a dress with a prominent bow, which was a huge trend in 2024. 

The royal was sporting a black-and-white check dress from Zara, which featured a pleated skirt, a belted waist and a bow that ties like a necklace. (If the outfit looks familiar, that’s probably because she previously wore it in 2021 when she visited University College London.)

The outfit piqued my interest because bow accents were a prominent trend in 2024. Back in December, Princess Catherine stepped out for her annual holiday concert, titled “Together at Christmas,” at Westminster Abbey alongside her husband, Prince William, and their three children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.

The royal wore a long, double-breasted coat and black boots. But the real star of the show was the large black bow at the center of her chest. Princess Catherine was following in the footsteps of Katie Holmes, who previously rocked a long-sleeve gown with a long but simple black bow tied at the back. Plus, in fall 2024, PureWow’s Assistant Commerce Editor Natalie LaBarbera called out bow-front cardigans as “the style all the cool girls are wearing now.”

Guess bow accents are here to stay.
