Regardless, the jewelry swap likely had no hidden meaning because the engagement ring returned twice later this month, first when Princess Catherine attended an official event honoring the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau.

And most recently, the Princess of Wales visited Tŷ Hafan, a Welsh charity dedicated to helping families and children with life-shortening conditions. 

If you look past her prominent bow, you’ll notice that her diamond and sapphire engagement ring was on full display. 

Princess Catherine hasn’t shared the meaning behind her rings. However, jewelry expert Phil Grosso from Amore Fine Jewelry noted that the eternity band may have a deeper meaning. He said, “Eternity rings have long been a symbol of unending love, commitment, and connection. Given Kate’s affinity for personal pieces, this ring may represent resilience and strength, especially after her health journey.”
