Now that America’s Got Talent is back in production, Sofía Vergara has been sharing behind-the-scenes content on her Instagram page and fans (myself included) are loving it. However, her latest post just made me do a double take.
This week, the Modern Family star, 52, posted a slideshow on her personal Instagram account, featuring a BTS video and photo from the set of America’s Got Talent.
The slideshow begins with a selfie video of Vergara and Mel B (AKA Scary Spice). What really caught my attention is the second picture, which features Vergara and Mel B sitting next to Simon Cowell on an intricate wooden bench. The photo made me do a double take because Vergara and Mel B look wildly overdressed compared to Cowell, who is rocking a black T-shirt, cut-off shorts and sunglasses.
Meanwhile, Vergara looks ravishing in a bright red outfit that looks like a dress but it’s actually a jumpsuit upon closer inspection. Mel B is wearing a form-fitted white lace ensemble that could either pass as a mini dress or romper. She’s even rocking a nod to her Spice Girls alter ego in the form of leopard-print boots. (FYI, the animal print was Scary Spice’s go-to.)
Perhaps Cowell was wearing comfy clothes when he arrived, and the photo was taken before he changed into his actual outfit. Or maybe he can get away with wearing a casual outfit because he sits behind a desk while taping. Either way, the contrast between the ultra-glamorous ladies and the very relaxed Cowell was stark.
Vergara captioned the post, “Audition day 5!! Its going to be a crazy season!!”
Cowell has some explaining to do.
