The 14 Best Celeb Baby Names of 2019

Guys, it’s happening: The end of 2019 is rapidly approaching.

And while this year has (already) been full of secret weddings and pregnancy news, we thought it a good time to look back on all the celeb baby names the year has brought our way.

From Meghan Markle’s Archie Harrison to Jessica Simpson’s Birdie Mae Johnson, here are the 14 best celebrity uncommon baby names of 2019 (so far).

1. Archie Harrison Mountbatten-windsor

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex waited two days to reveal the name of their first born. And while we're not totally sure about the historical significance of "Archie" (unless, ya know, Megs and Harry are huge Riverdale fans), we're guessing it must be short for Archibald. Archie has Germanic origins and means "master," "genuine" and "precious" while the full name Archibald means "bold" or "brave," according to BehindtheName.com. So yeah, it’s definitely fitting.

2. Hope Catherine Kotb

When Today host Hoda Kotb and her partner, Joel Schiffman, decided to adopt another child, they already had a name idea in mind. "The name came because there are a lot of women out there who are hoping that their day is coming too, and I know the feeling of it not happening for a long time," Kotb said. Simple and meaningful—we love it.

3. Birdie Mae Johnson

While Jessica Simpson and husband Eric Johnson haven’t spoken out on exactly why they named their third child (who they welcomed on March 19) Birdie, the name actually carries some meaning itself. According to The Bump, the unique moniker “Birdie” means “bright, famous” or also just “little bird.”

4. Navy Rome Williams

Country singer Jason Aldean and wife Brittany revealed their daughter’s name at Brittany's baby shower back in November. And while we’re not sure where the first or middle name came from, the baby girl was passed the last name Williams, which is the given name of her father.

5. Adler Lawrence Karp

On June 24, actress Danielle Fishel and hubby Jenson Karp welcomed their first son Adler Lawrence. Although the name Lawrence is technically in honor of Jensen's late father, it also happens to be the maiden name of Danielle's most famous TV character, Topanga Lawrence. Double whammy.

6. Brooks Easton Tolbert

Bachelor nation stars Tanner Tolbert and Jade Roper accidentally welcomed baby number two in their closet over the summer. We’re not kidding. And perhaps even more interesting was that Bachelor fans had a say in choosing the name.  A week before welcoming their bundle of joy, the reality star couple did fantasy-football-esque voting on their Instagram Story to narrow down name options. Brooks was one of the final monikers in the running, along with Reed.

7. Charlie Wolf Tell

Lauren Conrad and husband William Tell welcomed their second child together in mid-October. Unlike with other announcements, the couple shared a cute drawing of their family of four rather than a photo. The first and middle names, which are also shared by Zooey Deschanel’s son (we’re serious), have family ties.

8. Maverick Nicolas Phelps

Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps and wife, Nicole Michelle Phelps, welcomed their third baby, a boy, into the family on September 9. And we're diggin' the Top Gun vibes we're getting from the name.

9. Santino Rafael Lopez

Back in July, Mario Lopez and his wife became officially outnumbered by their kids. The already father of two announced the news on his personal Instagram account and shared a slideshow of photos featuring the newborn and proud parents. But when it came to the name, Lopez opened up to PureWow to reveal the meaning. "All my kids have Italian names," the former Extra host said. "Lopez covers the Latin part. We just loved the way it sounded. And Rafael is my grandfather's name."

10. Psalm West

Grandma Kris Jenner’s family expanded by one back in May, when Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s surrogate gave birth to the couple’s fourth child. And while they didn’t immediately reveal Psalm’s name, we had high expectations.

11. Alessi Ren Luyendyk

Bachelor alum Arie Luyendyk Jr. revealed that he and his wife, Lauren Burnham, welcomed their first child together on May 30. In a People exclusive, Burnham stated that the couple decided on the unique moniker way back in December.

“I was obsessed with finding a name right away,” she shared. “I think it was on Christmas Day when we decided. I was looking online at girl names once we found out the gender. I found Alessia and loved it and Arie said, ‘What if we dropped the A from the end?’ And we both knew that was it.”

12. Giovanna Ines Jovanovic

Daphne Oz and her husband, John Jovanovic just added another MasterChef Junior to their growing family in August. Nicknamed “Gigi,” she was born at 8 pounds, 5 ounces and her name literally means “the lord is gracious.”

13. Lucia Martin-yosef

Singer Ricky Martin and his husband, Jwan Yosef, rang in the new year by welcoming their third child Lucia. The couple are also parents to 10-year-old twin boys, Matteo and Valentino.

14. Jacob Bryan Fisher

As of January, Carrie Underwood is surrounded by not one, not two, but three boys. She and her hubby, Mike Fisher, continued with tradition and chose a name that had biblical importance for their third born.
