Kate Middleton’s Red Eponine Coat Stole the Show at Her Latest Royal Event

Kate Middleton was a vision in red this morning.

On Friday, the Duchess of Cambridge paid a visit to the National Portrait Gallery in London to meet the photographers featured in her new book, Hold Still. The mother-of-three announced that she had teamed up with The Book Fairies U.K. to share copies with people around the country. Per an Instagram slideshow, the 39-year-old revealed that book fairies, the Hold Still judges and photographers are leaving copies of the book at places that gave them hope during the lockdown.

The post includes a video and three pics of Middleton placing a copy of the photo book alongside a fountain at Kensington Palace. While we were excited to see the duchess putting together this little scavenger hunt for the community, it was her ensemble that especially caught our attention.

For the occasion, Middleton rocked a bright red wool coat dress, a pleated champagne midi skirt, brown stiletto heels and a matching brown mini bag. She topped off her look with a pair of crystal earrings. And while we originally thought the outerwear was her go-to Alexander McQueen coat, it turns out this one is reportedly from the brand Eponine.

And we weren’t the only ones to appreciate this chic ensemble. Fans and followers were quick to call out her look in the comments section on Instagram. One user stated, “Amazing outstanding #and you look fantabulous,” while a second person added, “Got to love someone who rocks the heels.”

A scavenger hunt in heels? Now that’s impressive.
