“Look, I’m 63 years old,” Clooney said. “I’m not trying to compete with 25-year-old leading men.”
He added, “That’s not my job. I’m not doing romantic films anymore.”
The Ticket to Paradise star also discussed his brand-new play Good Night, and Good Luck, which is based on the 2005 movie of the same name. Not only did he write the screenplay for the original film, but he also penned the stage adaptation which takes place in a 1950s newsroom. Clooney admitted that he’s understandably nervous, given it will mark his Broadway debut.
“I mean, look at this place. This is proper old Broadway. And it's exciting to be here, you know?” he said. “Look, let’s not kid ourselves. It’s nerve-wracking and there’s a million reasons why it’s dumb to do.”
