Queen Camilla’s Necklace Has a Very Special Meaning (& I Almost Missed It)

Queen Camilla was wearing a gold necklace that has a circular pendant with a ruby (the queen’s birthstone) at the center. It also has an engraved letter for each of her five grandchildren: “L” for Lola, “F” for Freddy, “G” for Gus, “L” for Louis and “E” for Eliza. 

The abovementioned Louis shouldn’t be confused with Prince William and Kate Middleton’s youngest son, Prince Louis. The grandkids in question are from Queen Camilla’s previous marriage to Andrew Parker Bowles, with whom she shares two children, Tom Parker Bowles and Laura Lopes.

If the pendant necklace looks familiar, it’s probably because Queen Camilla has worn the accessory on multiple occasions. Last year, the queen and king visited the University College Hospital Macmillan Cancer Centre. She wore a flattering leopard print dress, along with the same necklace.

During her visit to Northern Ireland, the royal also wore a tropical bird brooch, which (according to Tatler) was a new addition to her jewelry collection. The gold accessory featured an ombré of green starting at the head of the bird, which complemented the queen’s recycled dress from Anna Valentine. The outlet speculated that it was an early anniversary gift from King Charles, since they will celebrate 20 years on April 9.
