‘A Quiet Place: Part III’ Is Coming A Lot Later Than We Thought—Here’s What We Know

Looks like fans will have to wait a little bit longer for A Quiet Place: Part III to premiere in theaters, according to Paramount.

During ViacomCBS Investor Day, actor and director John Krasinski announced that the third installment in the horror franchise should hit theaters in 2025. The Office alum remained tight-lipped about the plotline and cast details. So, it’s unclear if Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds or Noah Jupe will return for the next film.

Though fans will have to wait four years (yes, you read that right) for the third part, there is a new spinoff that’s arriving a lot sooner.

Michael Sarnoski, who directed Nicolas Cage’s critically acclaimed film Pig, is set to work on a spinoff film that takes place in the Quiet Place universe. The movie will have an entirely different plot that was inspired by Krasinski himself, who wrote and directed the first two movies. The film is set to be released through Paramount on September 22, 2023.

A Quiet Place is set in a world where aliens have taken over. With an acute sense of hearing, the blind creatures attack anything that makes the slightest sound, forcing people to live in silence. The film follows a father (Krasinski), his wife (Blunt) and their three children, who struggle to survive in a world devoid of sound.

The first movie was a huge success at the box office, grossing more than $350 million worldwide. Two years later, the second installment premiered in theaters and was met with just as much praise. A Quiet Place: Part II broke several box office records, including the biggest opening weekend during the COVID pandemic.

In the meantime, we'll just have to wait patiently (for the next four years) for A Quiet Place Part III to hit theaters.
