Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Gabrielle Union

We could never forget about Gabrielle Union's iconic role as Isis in Bring It OnBut as we all know, she has since blossomed into a fierce fashion queen, author and entrepreneur with dozens of acting credits to her name.

After getting her bachelor's degree in sociology from UCLA, Union had plans to attend law school. But during her senior year of college, she landed an internship at a modeling agency, where she caught the eye of a few clients. After finishing her internship, she signed on as a client with the agency and pursued modeling as a way to pay off college debt. During her time there, her agent discovered that Union also has a natural talent for acting.

Surprisingly, Union initially had no interest in pursuing acting, only taking on small roles to pay off her college loans. But as she gained more experience, Union grew to enjoy performing. After landing her first audition for Saved by the Bell, she went on to appear in several '90s shows, from Moesha and Smart Guy to 7th Heaven. Fast forward to 2000 and the actress landed her breakout role in Bring It On. Since then, she has appeared in box office successes like Bad Boys II and Think Like a Man. Not to mention her BET drama series, Being Mary Jane, earned her an NAACP Image Award.

Outside of her acting career, Union has been keeping busy with her hair-care line, Flawless by GU, which she launched in 2017, Bitsy's, the allergen-friendly brand that she co-founded, and her fabulous clothing line with New York & Company. Plus, she has published four books, including We're Going to Need More Wine and You Got Anything Stronger?.

In 2014, Union tied the knot with NBA player Dwyane Wade in Miami, Florida, after six years of dating. The actress became a stepmom to Wade's three children, Zaya, Zaire and Xavier. They also share a daughter named Kaavia—best known for her meme-worthy facial expressions.

Keep thriving, Gabrielle.
