I'm Obsessed with Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade's Oscar Party Looks

Drop everything. Did you guys see Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade absolutely crush the red carpet at last night’s Vanity Fair Oscar Party? A stylish couple known for always bringing the heat, Union and Wade didn’t disappoint, with Union opting for a black embellished gown from Carolina Herrera as her ensemble for the evening. Keeping the accessories simple, she wore a silver diamond choker that accentuated her ‘90s style updo and natural makeup. 

As for Wade, he kept things traditionally simple (and stylish) with a sleek black 3-piece suit and oxford leather dress shoes. And while the pair frequently steps out for date nights, family is still top of mind. In August 2014, Union and Wade tied the knot in an intimate Miami ceremony. Together, the couple share 6-year-old daughter, Kaavia, and Union is the stepmother to Wade's three kids Zaire, Zaya and Xavier.

Kaavia James, the baby, is the star of the family, and on her sixth birthday, the couple celebrated with a sweet social media post and caption that read, “Miss Kaavia James Union Wade is 6 today!!! You are a miracle who has blessed everyone with your kindness, compassion, elite humor, intelligence and your loving soul. You are a gift to your family, blood and chosen, and so many people across the world." They continued, "We love you beyond measure and we celebrate your cute little self-daily.”

The family is also celebrating the improved health of their patriarch, who successfully recovered from a cancerous tumor on his kidney a little over two years ago.

“Obviously, him getting that diagnosis was traumatic for him, you know, being faced with your own mortality in your early 40s,” Union recently said on a February episode of Today With Jenna and Friends, “You’re like, ‘Am I going to be here to see my family? Who am I without this big life? Without this healthy body?’ But you also don’t understand the journey and the toll it takes on your marriage, on your family, on your kids.”

Thankfully, Wade underwent a successful operation that removed the tumor in December 2023, and appears to be doing well.
