I knew those earrings looked familiar

Kate Middleton has stepped back into the public eye for her first major royal events since completing chemotherapy. And while she made headlines with her surprising millennial look, her bonding with Duchess Sophie and her extremely revealing body language, her appearances also included not one, but two special tributes to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.

First, on November 9, the Princess of Wales, 42, attended the Festival of Remembrance at Royal Albert Hall and donned a black gown with a poppy brooch, which honors those who have died at war. In addition, she wore a familiar accessory: Collingwood pearl earrings that once belonged to Princess Diana. (Fun fact, they were given to Diana as a gift from Collingwood, which happened to be a personal favorite brand of the Spencer family.)

Also, in case you missed it, the princess brought back her iconic sapphire and diamond engagement ring, which also belonged to Diana. During other recent appearances, the engagement ring was swapped out for an infinity band, but it appears she's brought back the Diana piece.

According to Vanity Fair, the famous ring is made up of a 12 carat Ceylon sapphire encircled by 14 diamonds, and it was custom-made for Princess Diana by King Charles. It has been worn by Middleton since Prince William used it to propose to her in December of 2010.

But readers, the subtle nods to Princess Di didn't end there. On November 10, the princess attended Remembrance Sunday at The Cenotaph war memorial in London, where she wore a stunning black military coat with a statement bow. As it turns out, she's wearing Catherine Walker & Co., one of Princess Diana's favorite designers.

The all-black ensemble was paired with a matching fascinator, and Middleton wored three poppy pins, which could respresent the number of family members who have fought and died in wars.

Middleton and her husband marked the somber occasion with a heartfelt post on Instagram, where they shared a carousel of photos from the ceremony. The caption reads, "On Remembrance Sunday, we come together to honour the courage and sacrifice of those who have served and continue to serve in our Armed Forces. Let us pause, reflect, and remember them always. Lest We Forget."

In the comments, some fans offered words of support for fallen heroes while others celebrated Middleton's rare public appearance. One follower wrote, "I absolutely loved to see our beautiful Princess of Wales again, and thank you for supporting the fallen heroes every year!" Another said, "It’s nice to see the Princess of Wales. Continuing to wish her well."
