Jennifer Garner Traded Her Heels for Sneakers Halfway Down the Red Carpet

We know how difficult it can be to get around in heels, but Jennifer Garner had the perfect solution as she walked the red carpet for her new Netflix film, Family Switch.

At the Los Angeles premiere for the family comedy a few weeks back, the 51-year-old star swapped out her black stiletto heels halfway through her appearance for a pair of Christmas-colored sneakers. Of course, this extra pair of shoes came in handy when Garner broke out into dance with the rest of the Family Switch cast, emulating a scene from the film. Check out footage of the moment below.

Family Switch follows parents Jess (Garner) and Bill (Ed Helms) as they try to get everything prepared for the holiday season. However, things take a turn when a cosmic event causes them to switch bodies with their teenage kids, CC (Emma Myers) and Wyatt (Brady Noon).

With her shoe swap, not only did Garner make it easier for herself to dance, but she also made a wink to the plot of the film, by changing into shoes that are typically associated with teenagers (and her character does get the opportunity to embrace her inner teen again, after all).

Fans loved the mid-premiere shoe exchange (as well as Garner's dance), like one user who commented, “She radiates so much positivity it’s always such a joy watching her.” Another wrote, “GO JEN!!!”

As noted by a different fan, this isn't the first time we've seen one of Garner’s characters show off their dance moves. Let's not forget in 13 Going on 30, when Jenna (Garner) and Matty (Mark Ruffalo) do a playful rendition of the “Thriller” dance. (This is another movie where Garner's character jumps in age, and the director of Family Switch has noted that his movie makes a nod to Garner's 2004 rom-com classic.)
