This Blake Lively Boxed Mac and Cheese Hack Is Ingenious (and Very Cheesy)

You know how boxed macaroni and cheese sounds amazing, but when you actually go to make it, the results don’t hold up to what you remember? We might’ve just found the solution, thanks to, uh, Blake Lively. The Gossip Girl alum recently shared her secret in an Instagram story, and let’s just say her mac and cheese hack involves four types of cheese.

“This is not an ad. I’m mac & cheese passionate. This is so damn good,” Lively wrote in her Story, referring to the Goodles Twist My Parm box on her counter. (FYI, Goodles is a new brand of boxed mac and cheese from Gal Gadot that claims to have more protein and probiotics than traditional boxes.) The Savages star’s secret? According to Lively, she tosses the box recipes out the window. “Instead: add a heavy splash of whole milk,” she advised. “Mix in the cheese powder. 1/3 block of cream cheese. And two big handfuls of fresh grated sharp cheddar and/or a hard goat cheese of Gouda. I like to mix all 3. Enjoyyyyyy.”

We’ve never met a macaroni and cheese recipe that was made worse by adding more cheese, so this all checks out. But just to be sure, we enlisted PureWow creator Juliette to remake the creation on the latest episode of Celeb Bites (see above). Keep scrolling for more details on Lively’s “recipe.”
