Chrissy Teigen is about to make you a robe person. No, seriously—after a year that’s turned every fashion trend on its head (What are shoes? Is there a limit to how much you can tie-dye? Should we ever stuff ourselves into skinny jeans again?), it’s only fitting that the buzziest launch of 2021 (so far) is Everyday Robes, aka lightweight-yet-glam wraps you can slip on and still feel polished wearing. Consider it the new Nap Dress, only half as expensive and twice as sexy.
They’re the latest expansion in Teigen’s Cravings line—known as Chill by Cravings—which also features ultra-fluffy slippers, scrunchies and headbands. And honestly, it’s a long time coming. Teigen first teased the expansion weeks ago on Instagram, with a cake to match her Ultimate Floral robe, but people have been begging for her to release her own designs long before that. Back in May 2020, articles started popping up that sourced her go-to quarantine looks, alongside a wave of comments on Teigen’s Instagram posts.
“I have a hard time finding cute/affordable robes to wear around the house/getting ready. I think maybe @cravingsbychrissyteigen needs to expand into robes [because] along [with] cooking, they’re kind of your thing,” one fan wrote.
Well, on February 8, the Cravings author delivered, relaunching her website and introducing the world to three new robes, ranging from ultra-casual and cozy to a fur-sleeved, gauzy number that’s reminiscent of Britney Spears’s “Lucky” video. (And no, we don’t think it’s a secret tribute to #FreeBritney, but we are placing bets on when Reddit starts a fan theory on this.) Anyway, let’s break down the four styles, shall we?
