Christmas is less than 60 days away, people! But if you're searching for a gift for a new pet parent, don't panic. Halo Collar—co-founded by the world-renowned dog behaviorist Cesar Millan—just launched a new edition of its coveted dog collar that does more than help you train your pup. Introducing: The Halo Collar 4 ($599; $569), which allows you to create invisible dog fences that keep your pet from wandering off, is easily one of the best gifts you can buy for a dog owner in your life (even if that dog owner is you). But there's a lot more to this new and improved device, so here's why you should buy it.

Whether you're familiar with the Halo Collar or not, buyers say the main attraction of the nifty gadget is that it lets you easily track your pet in the Halo app if they ever get lost, thanks to real-time tracking GPS technology. In other words, this dog collar provides peace of mind in knowing where your furry baby is at all times. So, what's unique about this latest model? It has *25 percent more* battery life (more than 30 hours, to be exact), a sleeker design (featuring a supposedly rugged collar construction and IP67 waterproof rating) and is available in *four* colors (including the new Midnight Blue).

But how does it help you train your pet? Instead of the typical shock collar (which zaps them when they go out of bounds), this one uses static feedback that mimics a tap on the shoulder. As the brand says, "This timely touch breaks your dog's fixation in dangerous situations and distraction-filled environments to keep them out of harm's way. " But let's say you're on the fence about using the static feedback feature; you can turn it off completely or choose from a range of static levels you're comfortable with in the app. In other words, the Halo Collar 4 is totally customizable, so it's whatever you (or your giftee) make of it. But you don't have to just take my word for it.

Halo

"We bought our Halo when we moved to the country and didn’t want to put a fence up on our 2.5 acres," one buyer explains. "The training program was very informative and taught me exactly how to train my dog to understand her commands! She picked up on these personalized commands quickly, and it’s amazing to watch her obey the boundaries we have set for her." They also mentioned that they love having the ability to set invisible fences wherever they go so they never have to worry about their pet getting lost, and you probably will, too.

So, it's safe to say you can end your search for the perfect gift for dog owners. This is all they want for Christmas.
