Deutch plays the daughter of a hard-working cupcake maker (Lea Thompson) who is inadvertently elected mayor of a small town burdened with debt. Yikes. Oh, and did we mention Thompson is Deutch's real-life mom?

2. Beautiful Creatures (2013)

For her first big break in the movie industry, Deutch played Emily Asher in this romantic fantasy film. Based on the original novel of the same name, the film follows Ethan Wate (Alden Ehrenreich) as he meets and falls for Lena Duchannes (Alice Englert) who has supernatural powers that are beyond her control. Oh, and Viola Davis, Emma Thompson, Rachel Brosnahan, Emmy Rossum and Jeremy Irons also star. Pretty impressive.

Rose Hathaway (Deutch) is a half human-half vampire and a guardian of the Moroi (peaceful, mortal vampires living discreetly within our world). Her job? Protect the Moroi (including her BFF) from bloodthirsty, immortal vampires. We’re not kidding.

Deutch plays Shadia, Efron’s potential love interest. And yes, Zac’s abs make an appearance.
