New ‘Sweet Magnolias’ Season 4 Trailer Teases the Beginning of the End

Mark your calendars

I have a love-hate relationship with TV shows. I love the idea of binge-watching a well established show, like Grey’s Anatomy, knowing there are countless episodes waiting for me. However, I hate when I fall in love with a show, like Virgin River, and have to wait a year (sometimes more) to find out what happens. Luckily, the wait for Sweet Magnolias is almost over.

Netflix just dropped the first official trailer for Sweet Magnolias season four, which will hit the streaming service on February 6. I already know the new episodes will pull at my heartstrings, but I never expected the trailer to make me so emotional about what’s to come for the Sweet Magnolias.

The trailer confirms that Sweet Magnolias season four picks up right where the third installment ends. Maddie (Joanna García Swisher) is engaged to Cal (Justin Bruening). Dana Sue (Brooke Elliott) is hopeful after her vow renewal. And Helen (Heather Headley) finally knows what she wants in a future partner.

The footage doesn’t give too much away, but it appears that Maddie learns the hard way that secrets never stay buried. “To the things that I could’ve done differently,” Maddie says while raising a glass. To which Dana Sue responds, “Sweet Magnolias don’t toast regrets. We toast hope, love and occasionally top-tier gossip.”

If there’s one takeaway from the trailer, it’s that Sweet Magnolias season four is going to put their friendship to the ultimate test. But no matter what happens, they can always count on each other’s unconditional support.

Helen adds, “Whatever the new year may bring, no matter how far from each other we may be, the three of us will always be strength, will always be love, will always be home.”

Welp, is someone cutting onions?
