If NYC Families See One Movie This Month, It Should Be This Stunning and Immersive New Film

Earth education, meet Earth entertainment

Earth Day 2025 is coming up on Tuesday, April 22—but Earth Month is celebrated all April long (though really, it should be 365 days a year). There are a ton of great activities you and your fam can do to celebrate the occasion, from craft projects to volunteering to, of course, spending some time out in nature. But IMO, there's nothing like a good film to really get you into the spirit. A Vision for Tomorrow, however, is way more than just that.

Presented by the environmentally focused, multimedia platform Arcadia Earth, A Vision for Tomorrow is described as "an immersive 360-degree journey into the future for our planet," and it's more of an event than merely a quick flick. The experiential film aims to educate, entertain and inspire via mind-blowing technology and artistic visuals that truly capture the magic of our planet. Trust, from what I've seen so far, this is not going to be your average moviegoing experience.

The feature is broken up into four parts, with each segment spotlighting a different pillar of our environment—Trees, Air, Water and Soil—to explain its importance and explore humanity's crucial connection to it.

For the first segment, Trees, Arcadia Earth has partnered with American Forests, the oldest national nonprofit conservation organization in the United States, to raise awareness about the need for forest protection and expanded tree cover in underserved communities—and empower individuals to take action for a greener planet.

So, where and how can you watch *immersive yourself* in A Vision for Tomorrow? While the full feature will be getting a wider release at planetariums across the country later this year, those in the tri-state area are in luck. The immersive film's first segment, Trees, will debut exclusively at New Jersey's Liberty Science Center in honor of Earth Month.

From April 19 to 25, you can catch a showing on the 89-foot screen of the Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium, 88 million pixel resolution and all. Like I said, this is mind-blowing stuff, folks. Let's just say if you're looking for a unique, educational and engaging way to celebrate Earth Day with the whole fam, this is it.

Showings at the Liberty Science Center are at 10:15 a.m. from April 19 to 25, and are free with a general admission ticket.
