It’s been 13 months since Virgin River left us with that dreaded cliffhanger. (You know, when Charmaine told Jack he’s not the father of the twins.) And now, fans can finally binge-watch the first ten episodes of season five on Netflix.

The series follows a nurse practitioner named Mel Monroe, who moves to the small town for a fresh start. And in the fifth season, she’s joined by a few new cast members—including Libby Osler, who plays Ava.

Libby Osler is a Canadian actress who has joined the cast of Virgin River. Although her resume mainly consists of small guest roles, she may look familiar to some viewers.

2. Does She Star in Virgin River?

Osler stars as Ava in the show’s fifth season, which premiered on September 7. Her character is the daughter of the late Lilly (Lynda Boyd) and the sister of Tara (Stacey Farber). She returns to Virgin River to care for her baby sister while Tara is out of town. While there, Ava confides in Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) about her personal and medical troubles.

3. What Else Has She Starred In?

She had one-episode appearances in Supernatural, Stargate: Atlantis, Fairly Legal and When Calls the Heart. She went on to land bigger roles in At Your Feet, The Hot Zone, The D Cut, Departure and Chesapeake Shores.
