I’m still processing the season 29 finale of The Bachelor, which concluded with Grant Ellis proposing to Juliana Pasquarosa. Not only did the episode reveal a Golden twist for the upcoming season of Bachelor in Paradise, but it also featured a devastating breakup between the lead and his runner-up, Litia Garr. Now that the dust has settled, Ellis is setting the record straight.
Bachelor Grant Ellis Opens Up About His Finale Regret—And It’s Not What You’d Expect
Here's what he had to say

Ellis recently addressed the controversial finale, where he waited until the last minute to make a decision. The former professional basketball player, 31, revealed that if there was one thing he could change about his journey on The Bachelor, it would be his indecisiveness leading up to the proposal.
“That was a question I was asking myself out of confusion,” he told Variety. “That’s something I would change. That’s something that was clearly on camera. It’s a moment where you’re spiraling.”
Ellis admitted that he second guessed himself in a moment of panic, even though he knew what he needed to do. “We talked about how hard the decision was based on certain factors,” he added. “We also talked about how hard it is to let somebody down and that was the main point of emphasis that the edit really played a part in.”

Although Pasquarosa didn’t watch the finale, she had a deep conversation with Ellis about what happened in those final moments. She said, “Grant gave me all the information that I needed when we finished filming. There was a connection between you and Litia but nothing happened that came out of left field. I was prepared mentally.”
Ellis continued, “You know, I’m the second Black Bachelor ever. There’s some weight that comes with that…I think we all tried and the end goal was an engagement. That was the focus of the show and that’s what happened.”
Shout-out to Juliana for handling this like a total champ.
