The ‘Elite’ Season 5 Trailer Has Dropped (and Clearly the Party’s Only Just Begun)

*Warning: Spoilers ahead*

Class is back in session at Las Encinas!

Netflix released the official trailer for Elite season five. And just by watching the one-minute clip, we can definitely tell that we're in for some juicy, scandalous drama. The teaser starts with a close-up shot of Rebe with tears in her eyes. She’s standing in the hallway of the prestigious institution, fully dressed in the school uniform.

Then, we’re transported to a party that’s filled with our favorite classmates. Meanwhile, an unknown narrator says in the background, “This party is about being free. No prejudice. No rules. Only for the brave.”

The new season appears to pick up right where the previous one left off. Just to recap, Guzmán murdered Armando at Phillipe’s New Year’s party. Rebe and Samuel helped cover up the crime by dumping his body into a river.

In the season four finale, Guzmán decides to leave Spain to travel the world with his best friend, Ander. Now that Guzmán is gone and an unidentified body has been discovered, it looks like the high school gang is in pretty hot water.

Not only does the trailer tease some new flings, but it also foreshadows a breakup on the horizon. In one scene, Rebe is talking to her girlfriend, Mencía.

During the emotional convo, Rebe says, “Sometimes I feel like we’re not meant to be together, even though we are committed.” So, does this mean their relationship could be ending? Even though it’s too early to tell, it’s not looking good for the pair.

The fifth season of Elite will premiere on Friday, April 8. The new installment will feature returning cast members, including Itzan Escamilla (Samu), Omar Shana (Omar), Claudia Salas (Rebe), Manu Rios (Patrick), Pol Granch (Phillipe), Carla Díaz (Ari) and Martina Cariddi (Mencía).

In the meantime, we’ll be over here rewatching the first four seasons before the premiere.
