When it comes to Denzel Washington movies, I've seen more than my fair share (even the underrated ones). I've loved him in everything from Philadelphia to Fences. I was one of the first in line to watch his serial killer flick The Little Things well before it hit number one on Netflix.

But there's another Denzel serial killer thriller currently streaming on Prime Video that I somehow missed—and it looks absolutely terrifying. Allow me to introduce The Bone Collector, based on the 1997 Jeffrey Deaver novel of the same name.

The 1999 film follows a forensic detective (Washington) who is horribly injured on the job. With a serial killer on the loose and the detective unable to leave his bed, he has to turn to a rookie cop (played by Angelina Jolie) to help him solve the gruesome murders by following a series of cryptic clues before it's too late.

The Bone Collector also stars a number of other familiar faces, including Queen Latifah, Bobby Cannavale, Ed O'Neill and Luis Guzmán.

When the film came out 25 years ago, it received mixed reviews from critics. But movie fans have had a much more positive view of the thriller, giving it a 63 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

According to Syfy.com, it was originally thought that Al Pacino would play the role eventually filled by Washington. Per the report, "When Pacino decided to make The Insider with Michael Mann instead, Harrison Ford and Sean Connery were suggested by Universal Pictures. In addition, the studio floated Demi Moore and Nicole Kidman for the Amelia [Angelina Jolie] role."

However, director Phillip Noyce was adamant that the roles go to Washington and Jolie, and the rest, as they say, is history.

I personally know what I'll be watching (with the lights on) tonight. The Bone Collector is streaming now on Prime Video.
