We made a lot of questionable beauty decisions ten years ago (ahem, tanning beds and harsh soapy cleansers). But we'd argue that this concealer mistake is right up there with the worst of them.

We'll give it to you straight: You should be using a different concealer formula depending upon where you're applying it. Yep, really. Creams are better for blemishes as they’re less likely to wear off, while liquid concealer is best to use on under-eye areas because its lighter consistency won't cake and settle into fine lines as easily. So if you've ever wondered why your concealer wasn't doing the job it promised, this reason is likely the culprit.

Now that you know the facts, shop our favorite cream concealers (for blemishes) and liquid concealers (for dark circles).
