Well folks, we’ve made it through another year. And with the turning over of a new leaf comes, you guessed it, new trends. For the sake of this article, I’m going to focus on wellness trends, because there are some *really* good ones to look forward to. From employing AI as your own personal trainer to not shying away from discussing taboo topics on early dates, here are five wellness trends I’m willing to bet will be everywhere for the rest of 2025.

Hot Take: Intentional Dating Is the Trend We Should’ve Left in the Pandemic

1. Filter-Free Dating

Per eharmony’s 2024 Rule Breaker report, which uncovers the trends that will define how we date in 2025, Gen Z, Millennials and Gen X are giving new perspectives to old dating beliefs and shifting mindsets for a fresh approach to dating. According to the report, while dating, 75 percent of U.S. singles don’t believe you have to avoid taboo topics like politics, money and your ex—which means filter-free dating is in for 2025. Let go of old “rules” that state what you can and can’t talk about in early dating situations and lean into presenting your most authentic, unfiltered self.

2. Mindful Digital Consumption

We’ve pretty much all fallen into a doomscroll at this point (and yes, it’s actually bad for your mental health). This year, try being more mindful about how often you’re consuming potentially harmful media. According to Katie Healy, a breathwork facilitator and certified reiki practitioner at YogaRenew, doomscrolling is out, and mindful digital consumption is in. She says, “Instead of falling prey to endless scrolling and mindless consumption, we're embracing a more intentional approach to technology. Think of it as a daily vitamin for your mind—setting boundaries, taking breaks and engaging in activities that nourish your soul instead of draining it. This means swapping doomscrolling for mindful moments, cultivating in-person connections, and carving out time for digital detox.” Unplug, recharge and be as present as possible.

3. Magnesium for Better Sleep

According to trend forecaster, Spate, which pulls consumer search data from Google and TikTok to identify emerging trends, magnesium spray is blowing up, with consumer interest up 102 percent year over year on TikTok. As a quick refresher, magnesium is a mineral found in nature‚ a simple, inorganic substance that your body needs to provide structure to bones, make hormones and even make your heart beat. It can also—in the form of a spray or oil—help promote better sleep (read about Senior Editor Dana Dickey’s experience using magnesium oil on her feet here). As we continue to be overworked and overtired, it’s not entirely shocking that something like magnesium spray (try one from The Nue Co.’s Magnesium Ease or Dryft Sleep’s Magnesium Sleep Spray) is going to be majorly trending in 2025.

4. At-Home Air Purifiers

Over the past few years, serious wildfires and horrible pollution have become more and more commonplace. As such, interest in air quality monitors and air purifiers has been on the rise, as folks are seeking out solutions to keep themselves and their families safe with smoke potentially entering their homes—even if they’re hundreds or even thousands miles away from the fire. Around the time of the summer 2023 Canadian wildfires, VP of Editorial Candace Davison did a deep dive into just how effective air purifiers are, and found that while air purifiers can’t remove all pollutants, they can be helpful for folks looking to stay safe from wildfire smoke or for those with allergies, like SEO Editor Marissa Wu, who tested the popular Mila air purifier and found that it helped quell her intense allergy symptoms after just four weeks of testing. It’s upsetting that wildfires and other environmental dangers only seem to be ramping up, but thankfully there are steps to take to stay as healthy as possible.

5. AI Fitness

A personal trainer is one of those wellness luxuries that’s typically felt out of reach for many of us. AI fitness apps—some of which have been around for a bit, but I expect to grow in popularity in the coming year—let you reap the benefits of a personalized fitness plan without shelling out hundreds of dollars per session. Yep, apps like AaptivZing and Fitbod use AI to identify gymgoers’ strengths and weaknesses and then suggest specific exercises to help them achieve fitness goals. Now, there’s a lot to be said for having a certified person standing in front of you, correcting your form and motivating you IRL, but AI fitness apps are making personalized workout much more widely accessible moving forward.
