If there’s one thing I refuse to do this summer—besides jet-ski—it’s suffer a hot day and long walk with uncomfortable shoes. Blisters? Absolutely not. Straps that dig? I can’t. So me and my sad little (read: big) feet are happy to report that the Kara AdaptAll™ Sport Sandals by Vivaia, have somehow cracked the code on being both functional and stylish—aka, the holy grail of warm-weather footwear. Here’s my review of the sandal that I think even my podiatrist would give the thumbs up.

I try on the Kara sandals from Vivaia.

The Fit

Vivaia

First things first: The fit. These sandals have a cushy, supportive sole that makes them feel more like a pair of sneakers than strappy sandals. But the real magic is in the adjustable knit straps. They’re soft, flexible and mold to your foot instead of forcing your foot to mold to them. Me feet border on the wider side, but the material stretches nicely, while staying supportive but not squeezing my circulation off.

The Look

Style-wise, they hit the mark. As someone with foot pain, finding a shoe that’s comfy and cute is such a win. I have been in situations where I’m wearing such insanely ugly shoes that I’ve had to explain “my feet hurt which is why I’m wearing these” before anyone judged my outfit. The sandal actually comes in three variations:

Plus, the sandal comes in ten colorways. Mine are the Ivory Nude, a subtle two-tone that is a lovely neutral (not too stark, not too yellow), making them shockingly versatile but still with a punch of personality. Shorts and a tee. Jeans and button downs. Breezy linen dress. They all look great with these. Plus, they’re super lightweight, so they’re coming with me on all my summer travel.

Bottom Line

Vivaia

These are the kind of sandals you get compliments on even though you picked them out because you didn’t want your podiatrist to yell at you.
