October comes in like a breakthrough therapy session: difficult, teary and illuminating. Mercury is retrograde in Libra and we’re all feeling emo and desperately nostalgic, reviewing past loves and unearthing sticky relationship dynamics. The new moon in Libra on the 6th is a spicy one. Though Libra is ordinarily focused on keeping the peace, with aggressive Mars in the mix, even the most considerate amongst us wants to start a fight. In fact, a relentless series of transits from the 6th through the 10th brings out all kinds of petty arguments and unpopular opinions. Tread carefully: Knowledge can easily fall into the wrong hands under these skies.
Though there’s certainly a lot of drama, October also provides plenty of epiphanies and forward motion. Again, it’s a relentless therapy session. Pluto goes direct on the 6th, Saturn goes direct on the 10th and Jupiter goes direct on the 18th. Major life changes and transformations that have been running background updates are once again in our main window. Much progress has been made! Mercury also goes direct on the 18th, leaving more excuses not to go after what we want.
If there’s any levity to October, it’s that Venus spends most of the month in freewheeling Sagittarius. The love planet moves into the archer’s sign on the 7th, allowing us to let down our guard and get flirty. With plenty of romantic options on the table, we want to have our cake and eat it too. But a bold and amorous move around the full moon in Aries leaves us with more questions than answers.
After a whirlwind few weeks, things slow down when Scorpio season begins on the 23rd—Happy Birthday to our Scorpio babes from Ryan Gosling to Whoopi Goldberg to Emma Stone. It’s time to apply all the revelations from Libra season into living more integrated and authentic lives. The intensity gets turned up even higher when Mars moves into Scorpio on the 30th, allowing us to work on problems (both at home and in our personal lives) with greater depth and concentration. Transformation is painful, but so necessary.
