How are you all doing after the wild astrology that was March? While the eclipses brought sudden beginnings and endings, Mercury retrograde snuck in to revise the plan. On top of that, Venus retrograde had us all questioning our desires, and Neptune changed signs for the first time in 14 years, bringing on both spiritual breakthroughs and existential crises. Very chill and casual times! (/s)

As April begins, we’re still in the thick of retrograde season. Mercury retrograde continues until the 7th and Venus retrograde doesn’t end until the 12th. There’s a gorgeous new moon in Taurus on the 27th that will feel like the true fresh start for this wild year, but until then, we’re all finishing up a story that began at the end of 2024. Everyone is going through it (and if you’re not, truly bless your heart), but in my astrological opinion, there are two signs going through it the most.

Venus retrograde is the clearest transition point in April. Happening across the signs of Aries and Pisces, the first and last sign of the zodiac, this retrograde is a true rebirth. Venus is the planet of love, beauty and connection. Since March 1, with Venus moving backward in the sky, there’s been a clear directive to review past relationships, creative projects and attachments in order to let go or rewrite the narrative. The signs going through the most change in this time are of course the two ruled by Venus: Taurus and Libra.

Taurus is in desperate need of a nap! For Taurus, Venus retrograde has been about finding a balance between participating and letting go. Social obligations are filling up their calendars as opportunities pick up and dreams come true. But with so much on their plate, it’s more important than ever that bulls develop their skills in meditation, reflection and releasing control. Though this period continues through late May, April is the peak of the busy season. The key here is less about changing what’s external, and more about making internal mindset shifts. If Taurus commits to rewriting their inner monologue, they’ll be unstoppable in their April pursuits.

Libras on the other hand are caught up at work and in relationships. This Venus retrograde has been testing the limits of their closest connections. The usually agreeable Libra has been forced to advocate for their needs, and ask for more support than usual from friends and lovers. Whether Libra has previously avoided commitment or been too quick to jump into one, this Venus retrograde makes it very clear what’s worth signing up for and what needs to be thrown away. Libras may experience sudden breaks in love, friendship and at work as they find a more authentic version of themselves.

TL;DR: Everyone is going through it, but Taurus and Libra have a lot going on. For all of us, April is for wrapping up the stories that have been playing out since November 2024 so that we can embrace a fresh start in May.
