Tired of your treadmill desk? Want exercise equipment that's actually going to engage your core? Well, have you heard about vibration plates?! More specifically, have you heard about the DamKee vibration plate ($200; $80) on Amazon? There's been quite a bit of buzz surrounding this bad boy and similar gadgets, and PureWow content creator Kate Kesselman put it to the test to determine whether or not it's really worth adding to your home workout routine. Spoiler alert: It totally is. Read on to see this unique piece of exercise equipment in action and learn why it's worth bringing home—especially now that you can buy it for a whopping 60 percent off.

So, what exactly is the deal with vibration plates? Well, they are designed to produce high-frequency vibrations that stimulate muscle contractions when you stand, sit or exercise on them, making your movements all the more effective. Some studies have shown that they help with everything from lower back pain and weight loss to reducing blood pressure. And when it comes to the DamKee vibration plate, Kesselman swears that it helps to better engage her leg muscles and core muscles while she exercises. "As soon as I stepped on, my whole body was not only shaking but working towards not trying to shake," she explained in a TikTok for PureWow.

She continues, "When instructors say engage your core, I don't always know what that means, but on this machine I finally understood. I will definitely be adding this to my home workout routine." And guys, if you've been looking for a small piece of equipment that'll upgrade your sweat sesh without taking up a ton of space, you should, too.

Per the brand, a 10-minute workout on this baby nets out to a whole hour of jogging, so it might just be the shortcut you've been looking for to improve your fitness. But just because it works faster, doesn't mean it won't be hard.

The vibration plate offers nine workout auto modes, a manual mode with adjustable vibration speeds (from 1 to 99) and a smart mode with three different frequencies, per the brand. It also comes with two resistance training bands (so you can work out your upper *and* lower body) as well as an LED display and remote control, which you can use to change the mode, speed and time. That is what makes this compact exercise machine—which can easily fit in a closet or underneath a sofa—perfect for all ages (even adults with limited mobility, according to the brand).

In addition to burning calories and engaging your muscles, the vibrations may also offer health benefits like improved bone density, better balance and even better circulation and lymphatic drainage. But, of course, I took a scroll through the review section to see what other buyers had to say.

Here's what I found out: "Having a prior history of edema and mild lymphatic issues, I find it to be very therapeutic to my legs," writes one reviewer. "I could feel the resistance in my legs and bum without the discomfort of strenuous lifting of weights or overexertion. It's a win-win!"

Meanwhile, another user raves, "I’ve noticed a big difference in my core strength and balance since I started using it. Plus, it’s surprisingly fun to stand on while watching TV or listening to music. I also like how compact it is; it fits perfectly in my small home gym and is easy to tuck away when I am done after the workout session. Overall, I highly recommend this vibration plate for anyone looking to spice up their exercise routine. It’s been a [worthy] investment for my fitness."

It certainly sounds like it's worth the hype, and since PureWow's own tester gave it her stamp of approval, I'm not waiting another minute to buy this vibration plate while it's on major sale. Movin' and shakin', here I come.
