Fine, we’re nosy. If we had our way, we’d rummage through the fridge of every inspiring woman on earth. We love to know what keeps these modern-day superheroes thriving and energized throughout the day (and of course, what snacks they sneak when no one’s watching). Here’s what Bobbi Brown, makeup artist extraordinaire and the founder of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, eats to feel and look her best.
What Bobbi Brown Eats Every Day to Look (and Feel) Incredible
6 A.m.
“I usually wake up when my husband Steven gets up (I never need an alarm), and my dog Biggie follows Steven into the kitchen. I roll out of bed, throw on my robe and glasses and head down to the kitchen to drink two cups of warm water with lemon. My main priority every day is to drink lots of water—hydration is key. I keep fresh-squeezed lemon juice in a mason jar so it’s easy to do first thing. Steven turns the Breville electric teapot on so the water is already warm when I get downstairs. I usually have to add a little room temperature water to it so I can drink it right away.”
6:30 A.m.
“I typically head over to the Nespresso machine and fill a mini mason jar with two shots of the Ristretto black capsule espresso. I grab my iPad and sit for 20 to 30 minutes reading the New York Post and checking Instagram. All of this while my husband is actively reading his paper on the bike, before he hits the gym or does yoga. (I keep telling myself to follow his example.)”
9:00 A.m.
“My breakfasts vary, but today I had plain Fage yogurt, blackberries and Poop Like a Champion High Fiber Cereal. (Really, that’s what it’s called. I add a bit of Stevia because it tastes a little like cardboard.) This holds me until lunch—it has 16 grams of fiber, which is a lot, so I need to drink even more water at that point.”
1:00 P.m.
“Lunch is usually on the go as my passion lies in building something and working with a team, and I’m always on the move. I love having a grass-fed, buffalo hamburger from StuffedBurger in Montclair prepared the 'Bobbi' way: wrapped in lettuce with a pickle, onion, sprouts, spinach, tomatoes, Maille mustard and a kale salad—followed by more water. After that, I’ll have two squares of dark chocolate to end the meal. (I always have to have something sweet.)”
4:00 P.m.
“I try to keep sipping on warm water all day. I usually get hungry in the late afternoon, so I’ll have another high-fiber mini meal, like a No Cow Bar with a cup of herbal tea, or flax crackers, veggies and hummus.”
7:00 P.m.
“Dinner is usually vegetable-centric with a clean protein and a Tito’s on the rocks. During the week, I’ll have my vodka with cucumbers, and try to stick to just one. However, on Saturday nights I will have two and three olives. Dessert for me is blueberries, cinnamon and maybe a bit of coconut milk, followed by a cup of peppermint or chamomile tea.”
