‘Stranger Things’ Is Taking Over Coney Island and Turning It Into an ’80s Theme Park Next Week

Ever dream about going to Hawkins, Indiana? No? Well now it looks like Hawkins is coming to us—well, it's coming to Coney Island, at least.

In honor of Stranger Things season three, Deno’s Wonder Wheel Amusement Park in New York is going to be fully transformed into the show’s sci-fi universe, which takes place in 1985.

From July 5 to the 7 (11 a.m. until 6 p.m.), park attendees and Stranger Things fans alike will have a chance to explore the Upside Down and enjoy treats such as Hawkins’ Scoops Ahoy ice cream. Is it too much to hope for a Steve Harrington appearance?

Attractions like Deno’s iconic Wonder Wheel, the bumper cars and the Tilt-A-Whirl will all be “Stranger-fied,” with themed surprises and quintessential elements from the series.

Not to mention there will be a Hawkins Fourth of July Spectacular Fireworks Show at 9:30 p.m. on July 5.

But if you’re not in the area, don’t worry. Other pop-up locations include places like California, Seoul and London. The Santa Monica Pier in California will even feature ’80s cover bands, the Hawkins High School cheerleading squad, food eating competitions, magicians and the Hawkins Bike Shop. So cool.

We’re just hoping the park isn’t as terrifying as the final trailer

Stranger Things 3 arrives on Netflix July 4.
