Serena Williams Shares Adorable Mother-Daughter Moment with Adira on IG

Serena Williams is bringing back her iconic "c'mon" chant—only this time, it's not in the middle of an intense tennis match.

Earlier today, the 43-year-old entrepreneur and mother of two shared a new video of herself sitting with her daughter, Adira, while teaching her to identify colors. In the footage, Williams speaks to the 18-month-old in fluent French as she calls out different colors, and for every correct response, the tennis champion celebrates with her classic "c'mon" phrase, complete with a passionate fist pump. But the best part? When Adira begins to imitate her mom's gestures by shaking her tiny fist.

In the caption, Williams wrote, "Teaching @adiraohanian the 'Serena, Come On.' What do you think?"

One fan commented, "Colors and shapes laced in French lessons, with a splash of 'training to win Rolland Garros.' Love it @serenawilliams." Another wrote, "Just another day in the Ohanian household and it’s simply beautiful to witness."

The adorable video comes just a few months after Williams shared a clip of a candid moment with Adira on the tennis court. Filmed by Adira’s 7-year-old sister, Olympia, it shows the 1-year-old helping her mom collect tennis balls. However, it seems like Adira isn't quite ready to leave the court, because instead of returning one to the basket, she runs off and throws it at the fence. 

In the caption, Williams teased Adira’s potential future as a tennis player and wrote, “When’s too early? @adiraohanian.”

One fan wrote, "The future world champion is in the way." Noting Adira's striking resemblance to her sister and father, Alexis Ohanian, another fan added, "Both girls stole their father’s face and their mother’s athleticism."

When Williams retired from tennis in 2022, she opened up about wanting to prioritize motherhood and her family. In a personal essay that she published in Vogue, she wrote, "I went from a C-section to a second pulmonary embolism to a grand slam final. I played while breastfeeding. I played through postpartum depression. But I didn’t get there. Shoulda, woulda, coulda. I didn’t show up the way I should have or could have. But I showed up 23 times, and that’s fine. Actually, it’s extraordinary. But these days, if I have to choose between building my tennis résumé and building my family, I choose the latter."
