Mike White Just Teased the Location for ‘The White Lotus’ Season 4 (& It's Not What You Think)

White didn’t elaborate further, but he did tease just enough to suggest that season four's guests won't be vacationing at a similar luxury hotel, which already feels like an interesting twist.

Regarding the new setting, HBO drama chief Francesca Orsi also told Deadline in February, “We’re going on some locations scouting in the next couple of weeks, so we’ll know soon. I can’t really say where we’re going to land, but chances are somewhere in Europe.” She also noted that there were “some countries on the map that we talked about, but nothing to report on until they actually go locations scouting.”

FYI, all three seasons of The White Lotus have taken place in warmer settings, and White's producing partner, David Bernad, once told The Guardian that he “doesn’t like the cold,” so we can at least rule out a ski resort. Still, something tells me that this new destination won't disappoint.

Per Rolling Stone, while attending Sydney’s Vivid Festival, White mentioned that he'd be open to filming in Australia. He said, “My dream would be to hit every continent, so yeah, this is like its own continent basically. We kind of have to come to Australia if we keep going. It would be so fun. Obviously, there’s a huge wealth of talent here and the beauty is inarguable, so it feels like it checks all the boxes.”
