Looks like Serena Williams's daughter finally has a partner for tennis doubles.
The 41-year-old athlete and her husband, Alexis Ohanian (40), have welcomed their second child, a baby girl named Adira. Ohanian announced the exciting news on Instagram where he shared a brand-new photo of their family of four.
“Welcome, Adira River Ohanian,” the caption read. “I'm grateful to report our house is teaming with love: a happy & healthy newborn girl and happy & healthy mama. Feeling grateful. @serenawilliams you've now given me another incomparable gift — you're the GMOAT. Thanks to all the amazing medical staff who took care of my wife & our daughter [prayer emoji] I'll never forget the moment I introduced @olympiaohanian to her baby sister.”
This is the second child between Williams and Ohanian, who welcomed their daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. (who goes by Olympia), in Sept. 2017. Two months later, Williams and Ohanian tied the knot in New Orleans, after a nearly year-long engagement.
Since Olympia's birth, the couple have run an Instagram account for their eldest, where they share images from all of her adventures. Now, we'll be curious to see if they do the same for the latest addition to their family.
Williams chose a major setting to announce that she was pregnant with her second child: the 2023 Met Gala.
The former host showed up to the red carpet with her hubby by her side, wearing a bedazzled bolero jacket and white tulle skirt from Gucci. At the same time that the couple entered, the Olympic Gold-winner decided to share a slideshow to her Instagram, where she subtly revealed that they were expecting another kid.
“Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala,” Williams wrote (cheekily) alongside a photo of her and Ohanian. Then, the following pics in the slideshow saw the tennis superstar cradling her baby bump.
A few months back, Williams shared a home video from when she and Ohanian first revealed to Olympia that she was going to be a big sibling. In the clip, the youngster starts jumping up and down, and she remarks, “Oh my god, I’m so excited.”
