Just last week, Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, celebrated their first wedding anniversary. The couple secretly got married back in July of 2020 with a small, private ceremony that included their family. The nuptials took place at the Royal Chapel of All Saints in Windsor and royal followers got a glimpse of the event with some gorgeous photos that were shared to Instagram.
While Mozzi commemorated the anniversary with a rare selfie and a loving message directed to his wife, it seems that Princess Beatrice's mother, Sarah Ferguson, has also been reflecting on the special event.
The Duchess of York just opened up about the royal union in an interview with The Telegraph. While members of the family have kept details under wraps, Ferguson said, “Beatrice’s wedding was very different [from Princess Eugenie's wedding], as thousands of other people’s had to be during the pandemic.” However, the smaller nature of the wedding didn't seem to affect the final result. “It was an intimate and beautiful family occasion,” the duchess said.
