One year ago today, the world said goodbye to Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away at the age of 96. To mark the anniversary, the British royal family honored her memory by sharing a beautiful photo of the late monarch on social media.

This morning, the royal family shared the exquisite portrait on their official X (formerly known as Twitter) page. In it, a younger version of the late queen smiles while sitting in a room that appears to be inside Buckingham Palace. Her Majesty is donning a periwinkle dress with a pearl necklace and matching earrings.

The caption read: “In loving and everlasting memory. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, 21st April 1926 – 8th September 2022.”

Earlier today, King Charles, 74, and his wife, Queen Camilla, 76, personally met with royal fans after attending a church service to mark the anniversary of the queen’s passing. In a series of photos posted by the royal family, His Royal Highness can be seen greeting young royal admirers standing outside of Crathie Parish Church.

Another picture shows a handmade card crafted by a royal lover, which read: “In remembrance of a truly amazing person, our Queen. Elizabeth II. You touched millions of us and are missed so much. Hearts broke on 8 September 2022.”

The royal family captioned the post, “Thank you for all your kind words of condolence as we remember Queen Elizabeth II.”

A beautiful tribute from the family.
