She's literally glowing

I’ve seen my fair share of mysterious royal portraits, from Kate Middleton’s haunting snapshot on Remembrance Sunday to King Charles's fiery painting. However, I’ve never seen anything quite like this photo of Queen Camilla

Today, the royal traveled to Middlesbrough to attend a special event for the National Literacy Trust, where she presented five students with a special award. Before the ceremony began, photographers captured a striking portrait of Queen Camilla sitting alone on stage.

The photo showed Queen Camilla sitting in a chair with her hands crossed in her lap. Her hair and skin resembled a purple tone due to the stage lighting, which cast an ethereal glow around her.

The royal family also shared a photo on their official Instagram account, featuring Queen Camilla standing on stage—but this time, she’s surrounded by students.

The caption shared details about the National Literacy Trust, which offers literacy resources to kids and adults. It read, “Today The Queen celebrated the impact of the @literacy_trust in Middlesbrough. The Trust is an independent charity that empowers children, young people and adults with the literacy skills they need to succeed.”

It continued, “Her Majesty joined 750 children from 12 local schools, Children’s Laureate Frank Cottrell-Boyce and author Nadia Shireen on stage before presenting five students with their ‘Star Reader’ certificates.”

Maybe it’s the purple stage lighting, but there’s something mysterious about that solo portrait.
