Prince William Makes Special Appearance with Unexpected Royal Family Member Days Before His Birthday

A week before he celebrates his 41st birthday, Prince William attended The Royal Foundation’s documentary screening of Rhino Man (organized by United for Wildlife) in London earlier this week. But, he was not alone. The Prince of Wales was accompanied by one of his royal relatives.

On Tuesday, June 13, Prince William traveled to The Cinema (located in the Battersea Power Station) to watch the film—and the royal prince showed up to the private screening with a surprise plus one: his aunt, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh.

The Prince of Wales wore a navy blue suit and tie to the event, whereas Sophie chose to wear a purple floral dress.

In the photo below, the two royal relatives can be seen watching the film, which gives a glimpse into the life of a wildlife ranger in training, along with the other attendees.

The documentary includes the story of South African ranger Anton Mzimba, who sadly passed away in July 2022. Fortunately, William had a chance to personally meet and talk with Mzimba before his death.

A statement released by Kensington Palace said that the Duchess of Edinburgh was “delighted” to attend the screening and wanted to show her “support” for United for Wildlife.

This latest outing comes a couple of weeks after Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, 41, attended the royal wedding of Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan and his new wife, Rajwa Alseif.

The Prince and Princess of Wales posted a beautiful photo (shared on their Twitter page) of the two of them walking alone at the wedding in a Jordanian palace garden.

We’d love to see Prince William and Sophie attend events together more often.
