Kate Middleton, 42, has proudly shown off her parenting skills at a number of public engagements. But let’s not forget her husband, Prince William, 41, has a few tricks of his own.

The Prince of Wales celebrated St. David’s Day (which was on March 1) by visiting The Turf pub in Wrexham. According to People, the royal spent some time with Rob McElhenney, who purchased the Wrexham soccer team with Ryan Reynolds in 2021. McElhenney and Reynolds’s journey with the British soccer team was highlighted in the FX docuseries Welcome to Wrexham

While leaving the bar, the prince was greeted by a young Florence Boyle, who also gifted the father of two with a daffodil. FYI, it is a tradition to wear either a leek or a daffodil on St. David’s Day because they are both national emblems of Wales.

In a photo snapped by royal photographer Chris Jackson, Prince William can be seen bending down at eye level (a classic parenting move to create open communication) to give the young fan a high-five as a thank you.

Later on that day, the future king went to the All Saints School in Wrexham. In a series of photos shared on the Prince and Princess of Wales’s Instagram account, Prince Wiliiam is smiling from ear to ear while surrounded by elementary school students (dressed in traditional Welsh attire) in a gymnasium.

The caption read, “Great to be in Wrexham today. First up, seeing the work of All Saints School, running their own brilliant Eisteddfodau. Before marking the 90th anniversary year of the Gresford mining disaster with a visit to the poignant memorial.”

While Prince William continues to participate in solo engagements, his wife, Kate Middleton, is still recuperating at Windsor Castle after she underwent abdominal surgery back in January. On February 27, an insider from Kensington Palace revealed in a health update that the Princess of Wales “continues to be doing well.”

You’re a natural in the parenting move department, Prince William.
