Prince William just paid tribute to his children (...and Taylor Swift?) during his latest royal outing.
This week, the Prince of Wales took a solo trip to Cape Town for Earthshot Week. Although he left his three children—Prince George (11), Princess Charlotte (9) and Prince Louis (6)—at home, the royal still found a way to honor his kids from afar.
If you look closely at his right wrist, you’ll notice that Prince William was wearing a friendship bracelet that said “Papa.” The accessory was reportedly made by Princess Charlotte, and it referenced the nickname his children gave him.
The bracelet was similar to the ones that Swifties have worn (and traded) throughout the entirety of the Eras Tour. I wouldn’t be surprised if Char got the idea from Taylor Swift herself, since she met the singer over the summer.
Swift references aside, I applaud Prince William for not letting the bracelet put a damper on his professional attire. In fact, the Prince of Wales wore the accessory during multiple royal outings—even when he played rugby while visiting Ocean View Secondary School.
In some of the photos, the bracelet can be seen on the prince’s wrist, though it’s somewhat hidden by his sleeve. Prince William was photographed bending down, chasing the kids and laughing while trying to retrieve the ball. His shoulders were relaxed and his knees were bent, both of which indicate the royal was at ease.
