King Charles Just Made a Surprisingly Public Show of Support for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Is that an olive branch we smell?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to relaunch their Sussex website back in February is receiving King Charles’s full support.

His Majesty, 75, or more likely his team, mentioned the royal couple’s brand-new website URL (sussex.com) on the pair’s new joint bio page titled “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex” on the official royal website. Prior to the change, the royals had separate profile pages displayed on the website.

Following the “About” section dedicated to the work Prince Harry, 39, and Meghan Markle, 42, have done throughout their careers, there is a brief summary of the couple’s recent endeavors with a link to the new website. The line reads, “Information about the current work of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex can be found on their official website: sussex.com.”

This is a surprisingly public show of support for the king's son and daughter-in-law. Considering the royal website is often quite outdated, the fact that the palace has updated things to call out the prince's new homepage is impressive.

On February 13, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex launched the updated version of the Sussex website. The couple had been using the Archewell Foundation website to share new updates and make important announcements since 2020. (Note: This replaced the pair’s previous website, sussexroyal.com, which still exists.)

However, there is a note on sussexroyal.com that redirects users to the new URL, which reads, “This site was established in 2020 and sets out the work streams of Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, prior to their move to the United States. So, why the change? Our guess is that the couple wants a rebrand and they’re trying to avoid using the word “royal” going forward. The new website features a photo of Harry and Markle clapping at the 2023 Invictus Games. And written in bold white text is the phrase, “The Office of Prince Harry & Meghan Markle. The Duke & Duchess of Sussex.”

Nice to see the monarch supporting the duke and duchess with their latest ventures.
