We just received a new update concerning Kate Middleton, 42, who has been in the hospital over the past week recovering from her previously unannounced abdominal surgery

Earlier this morning, Kensington Palace released a new statement and it was posted on the Prince and Princess of Wales’s Instagram account. The note reads, “The Princess of Wales has returned home to Windsor to continue her recovery from surgery. She is making good progress.”

“The Prince and Princess wish to say a huge thank you to the entire team at The London Clinic, especially the dedicated nursing staff, for the care they have provided,” the statement continues. “The Wales family continues to be grateful for the well wishes they have received from around the world.”

This comes just a few days after Princess Catherine received a surprise visit from her father-in-law, King Charles, who had been admitted into the same hospital to receive medical treatment for his enlarged prostate. The king was then also released from the hospital today and was photographed exiting with his wife, Queen Camilla.

A week before, Prince William, 41, was photographed visiting his wife at The London Clinic. While the Princess of Wales was recuperating in the hospital, William was taking care of their three children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, in Windsor.

As we shared before, Kensington Palace released a full statement on January 17, revealing the princess received surgery for a reportedly non-cancerous diagnosis. “Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter,” the statement read. “The Princess of Wales wishes to apologize to all those concerned for the fact that she has to postpone her upcoming engagements. She looks forward to reinstating as many as possible, as soon as possible.”

We’re happy to see you’re getting better, Kate.
