The clip sees all kinds of developments for the AJLT crew. In one moment, we see Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) going to visit her now-ex-husband, Steve (David Eigenberg). Meanwhile, Anthony (Mario Cantone) goes to Charlotte (Kristin Davis) for some sex advice. And then of course there's Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Aidan (John Corbett), who seem to have found romantic harmony.
But we know what you're really here for, and it arrives at the end of the teaser, when the screen goes black and we hear a phone ringing. Then, the camera shows Carrie's cell phone, which says she's getting a call from Samantha. As she goes to answer it, the image cuts to the title screen, leaving us in total suspense about what exactly will be said between the two old friends.
Back in May, Variety reported that Cattrall would be making a cameo in the SATC sequel series, appearing in only one scene for the finale.
According to the site, Cattrall shot her lines in New York City, without ever engaging with other cast members. This was likely due to the falling out that occurred between her and Parker, which is part of the reason that Cattrall did not join the cast of AJLT in the first place.
In season one, we only saw Parker's character engaging with Samantha over text message, and the finale saw them planning to reconnect. Now, as their texting discourse has continued, we're finally going to see Cattrall on screen.
It feels like we've never waited so long for a phone to ring.
