I’m Totally Stealing Amy Schumer’s Genius Snow-Day Parenting Hack

For when it's too cold to function

Several members of the royal family have used Prince William and Kate Middleton's go-to parenting move, including everyone from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to Sarah Ferguson and Princess Beatrice. Even Taylor Swift copied the move during a visit to a hospital

On the other hand, there’s Amy Schumer, who just demonstrated an entirely different kind of parenting move. The 43-year-old comedian recently posted a rare photo of her 5-year-old son, Gene, on her Instagram Story.

The photo (screenshot above) showed Schumer and Gene laying next to a makeshift “snowman.”

The caption read, "Great moms find short cuts." Schumer was referring to the photo, which featured herself and her 5-year-old son laying in the snow. Instead of building a snowman, the comedian put the items directly in the snow to form the figure. This included a sweater for the body, a carrot for the nose, black items for the eyes and, of course, a red hat.

Gene has made appearances in previous Instagram posts, but it’s not a common occurrence. Schumer usually covers his face with an emoji, or she’ll only include a brief cameo (like her New Year’s post above). Although I value Gene’s privacy, this parenting hack was too good to not share.

When it’s that cold outside, take all the shortcuts you can get.
