While we already called “chocolate cake hair” as one of spring’s most popular hair colors...it seems there’s another color trend brewing, and it’s kind of the total opposite.
Case in point: Longtime brunette Alison Brie just went blonde.
The 36-year-old star of Glow posted an Instagram picture showcasing her new style, captioning the post, “When your husband asks you to ‘go blonde’ for a role...you say yes.” (The husband in question is Dave Franco, ICYMI.) She tagged celebrity hairstylist Clariss Anya Rubenstein, whom she’s worked with in the past.
Maybe it’s too soon to tell...and yes, we know it’s “for a role,” but Brie’s new honey-blonde ’do has us begging the question: Is light hair staking its claim as the other “it” style of the season? Brie isn’t the only one to go blonde—Lea Michele just declared herself a “sunlit brunette” and added some golden highlights to her dark locks.
Oh, and about the role she mentioned: According to Deadline, that would be Franco’s directorial debut, The Rental, a “character-driven horror thriller about two couples who rent a vacation home for what should be a celebratory weekend get-away.”
That plot sounds like the perfect setup for something to go wrong, but at least Brie’s hair will be on point.
