Here’s How to Make the ‘Jennifer Aniston Salad’ That’s Taken Over TikTok

Are you the type of person who needs to try a new recipe every. single. day, or are you convinced you could eat the same lunch for weeks on end and never tire of it? (We’re definitely in the latter camp, and in case you’re wondering, it’s a kale Caesar.) As it turns out, we’re in good company: Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow used to eat the same salad every day for lunch while they were filming Friends. Naturally, social media did its thing and tried to figure out just what salad Aniston was a fan of—and one specific recipe took off on TikTok.

Jennifer Aniston has since spoken out and revealed that the viral recipe below is not in fact what she ate while filming Friends. During an interview with Shape, Aniston said, “I'm sorry, I feel like I'm disappointing everybody, but that's not my salad. It looks delicious, but it's not the salad that I had on Friends.”*

Denial aside, the dish has still been dubbed by TikTokers as "The Jennifer Aniston Salad."

PureWow creator Juliette tested the recipe on a recent episode of Celeb Bites (see above to learn how to recreate it at home).

And bloggers like Erin Perry of Ice Cream and Neon Dreams and other influencers have created their own riffs on Aniston's famous salad. The one that originally went viral is from TikTok user @themodernnonna, aka Sneji Andreeva of the food blog The Modern Nonna.

In a post, Andreeva explained that she made a few adjustments to the recipe—while it normally calls for chickpeas, she leaves them out but adds lemon juice and olive oil. Since it’s a grain salad (read: lettuce-free and wilt-resistant), this would be an ideal make-ahead recipe for meal-prepping and packed lunches.

And just like that, our kale Caesar has been dethroned.
