The #1 Show on Netflix Is a Terrifying True-Crime Series That Will Make You Think Twice About Your Living Situation

Back when we were both in college, my cousin recounted a “roommate from hell” story she experienced while residing on campus during her freshman year. And ever since then, I’ve always been wary of living with roommates. And now, Netflix’s latest number one series just reinforced my fear. 

The second season of Netflix’s original series, Worst Roommate Ever, debuted on the streaming service on June 26. And it didn’t take long for the ominous true-crime series to reach the number one spot on Netflix’s top ten shows list. 

So what makes this show an absolute must-watch? For one, it would have to be its enticing premise. Over the span of four episodes, individuals recount their bad roommate stories, from a woman who uses the dark web to obtain custody of her roommate’s child to a man who imprisons his roommate. Scary, I know.

The episodes delve into the crimes committed by Janie Ridd, Michael Dudley, Scott Pettigrew, and Tammy Fritz. The stories featured in Worst Roommate Ever season two take place in Salt Lake City, Palm Springs, Seattle and Colorado Springs.
