RuPaul’s Net Worth Is Seriously Massive—& It All Has to Do with ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’

He's not only served us hundreds of fierce looks, but he's also snagged eight Emmy Awards, created the Drag Race franchise and made history as the first drag queen to grace the cover of Vanity Fair. Naturally, we're talking about the one and only drag icon, RuPaul—a household name who paved the way for countless people in the drag community. And now, with RuPaul's Drag Race in its fifteenth season, several successful spin-offs and multiple international versions, including RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under, we imagine that the model and TV personality is raking in sizable checks on a regular basis. But what is RuPaul's net worth? Read on for more details.

1. What Is Rupaul's Net Worth?

According to Celebrity Net Worth, RuPaul Charles is worth an estimated $60 million. Seems fitting, especially since Fortune officially named him the world's "most famous drag queen."

2. How Much Does He Earn from RuPaul’s Drag Race?

In 2013, TV Guide listed RuPaul among the highest-paid stars in reality television, revealing that he earned $50,000 per episode on Drag Race. At roughly 14 to 16 episodes per season, that adds up to at least $700,000 a year for his role as host and judge (not even counting the spin-offs). Although it's unclear how much he makes per episode these days, we're pretty sure his salary has grown significantly since then. Not to mention what he makes as a producer.

3. What About His Music?

The famous drag queen has released more than a dozen studio albums, including Foxy Lady, Champion and his most recent release, You're a Winner, Baby, which came out in 2020. How much he made from his albums is unknown, but we're willing to bet they make up a good portion of his net worth.

4. And His Makeup Empire?

Well, it's only fitting that this fabulous beauty icon would dabble in the multi billion-dollar makeup industry. It all started in 1994, when he signed a modeling contract with MAC Cosmetics and made history as the first drag queen to ever land a major cosmetic partnership. Then, in 2013, he teamed up with Colorevolution to release Glamazon, his line of vibrant makeup, which was also released alongside his unisex fragrance, of the same name.

Fast-forward to 2019, and the drag queen joined forces with Mally Beauty for the Mally X RuPaul Color Cosmetics Collection. According to Allure, he said, "[Mally] embodies everything I love about makeup and the playfulness of it. When she asked me to collaborate, I thought, ‘Absolutely’."

5. What About His Estate?

According to the Los Angeles Times, RuPaul owns a 10,000 square-foot mansion in Beverly Hills that's worth a whopping $13.7 million. And the massive estate includes a swimming pool, a spa, a gazebo and gorgeous landscaping.

Sounds like the queen of drag is living his best life, and all we can say is: She owns everything.
