Here’s What We Know About Nikolaj Coster-Waldau’s Wife

2. How Did They Meet?

The happy couple first crossed paths when they worked together on a radio play. While speaking with Body and Soul, Nukâka recalled, “We met acting on a radio play 22 years ago. Nikolaj was playing this Danish pilot, who went to Greenland and fell in love with a Greenlandic girl—and that was me! He proposed four months later. And here we are, 22 years later.”

Nikolaj admitted that it was love at first sight for him. He told the German edition of Cosmopolitan, “It was on March 17, 1997, at 8:37 in the morning. I saw her and knew, ‘She’s The One.’ Even before I’d said one word to her, I told my theater colleagues, ‘Guys, I’m getting married soon.'”

3. When Did Nukâka and Nikolaj Get Married?

The couple tied the knot in 1998, but we imagine they kept it small and private since neither has shared too many details about the ceremony.

Still, it’s safe to say that their marriage is going strong. In 2021, Nukâka shared a heartfelt tribute to her husband in honor of their 23rd anniversary. She wrote, “6/6-98 = 23 years since I said yes to share my life with the love of my life. Many years between these pictures (actually 23 years) and we are still not panicking. Love the story we are writing together, love you Nikolaj. And I know I'm lucky to have someone to love and who loves me as I am.”
