Netflix Releases Heartfelt Apology After Live ‘Love Is Blind’ Reunion Snafu

Netflix just learned the harsh reality of hosting a live TV event.

Last night, viewers tuned into what was supposed to be a live reunion for Love Is Blind season 4. But instead, subscribers got an error message that lasted for more than an hour. So, what happened?

Netflix hasn’t revealed exactly what went wrong, but it seemed like a technical issue that disabled the streaming service from connecting to the live stream as originally planned. (Hey, it happens.) The company initially said that the episode would be delayed 15 minutes. But after an hour of waiting, fans became frustrated by the lack of communication.

After 1.5 hours, Netflix released a statement announcing that the reunion wouldn’t be broadcast live. Instead, it would be pre-recorded and released immediately.

The streaming service apologized to viewers on Twitter, writing, “To everyone who stayed up late, woke up early, gave up their Sunday afternoon… we are incredibly sorry that the Love is Blind Live Reunion did not turn out as we had planned. We’re filming it now and we'll have it on Netflix as soon as humanly possible. Again, thank you and sorry.”

Fans filled social media with mixed reactions to the news. Even Mark Consuelos posted the error message on his Instagram Story. “There’s an issue with the livestream,” the screen read. “Hang tight! We’re trying to fix it as soon as possible.”
